Message from the President - March, 2012

Fellow Lions,

“March, as the saying goes, comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.”  This year we want March to come in like a lion (Kempsville Lion that is) and go out like a Lion.  We literally have the month of March to get ready and prepare for our biggest fund raising event of the year,  -  the annual Spring golf tournament.  Lion Arlen and his committee need our help in securing sponsors, soliciting ads, procuring door prizes, and attending to all the other needs that will ensure a successful tournament.  Please “listen up” at our next meeting and then “speak up” to make known what you can do.  Your ad in the program will help.

Also, due to changes in this year's journey for sight program, Lion Lew Falls and his recreation committee will have a bigger job than usual  -  they will be feeding a much larger crowd for a great cause that will occur only a few days before the big golf event.  Once again, “listen up”, then “speak up” to Lion Lew as to how you can help.  Together we will make sure March charges like a Kempsville Lion.

Fellow Lions, Just a reminder...

There will be a Lion of the Year Committee Meeting on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Lion PDG Don Burson's house. The committee includes all past Lions of the Year.

There will be a Melvin Jones Fellowship Committee Meeting on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. immediately following the Lion of the Year selection. The meeting will be at Lion PDG Don's house and includes all past Melvin Jones Fellows.

KLC General Membership Meeting

This is a reminder that our next general membership meeting will be on March 8, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Select on Military Hwy.  The Social starts at 6:00pm and Dinner will be at 7:00pm.  Try to bring a friend with you.


For those who would like to attend our meeting, it is open to the public.  For meal reservations contact ANY member 2 weeks prior to the meeting so your meal will be reserved.


Lion Bud Warren will be discussing being a Lion Club Member and what Lionism is and how it fits into that equation.


Please come out and support the Kempsville Lions Club.  We are always looking for new members.  That could be you!
